8Artisans started out making buckles as well as straps, but have now decided to focus on buckles only. I don't have any of their straps to review, but I did pick up a couple of their buckles. The pair I got here are the 24mm stainless submarine buckles. I got both the Titanium and the Steel to compare - these are one of their newer buckles and both come in brushed finish as you can see.

These buckles are designed by the owner David himself, and have a very nice look to them. Perhaps one of their more unique designs, and while still an obvious skull, fairly subtle when worn.

8Artisans calls them the Henchman buckles, which is an appropriate name. The asymmetrical skull is done very well and vaguely reminds me of the skull rings that have become so popular these days. The design is quite appealing actually, and doesn't look too "skully" making it quite wearable regularly. Buckles are held in via a screw, not springbar - only time will tell how well the threads hold up.

I mounted my Henchman on a 26mm RXW Horse Leather strap, and it looks fabulous. I just love the way the buckle sites and how the tang sits on the skull. Fantastic and affordable upgrades to your existing straps!
