Greg Stevens is probably one of the most popular of the American strap makers, with very cool stuff like Metta Leather and his heavily oiled Crazy Horse straps. Lots of character in his straps and a definate passion for watches and strap making. As you can see, his straps ship with a nice box, great for gift-giving.
The strap shown here is one of his Whiskey straps, with black edging. Very nice strap, soft feel, and goes on nice and easy. Greg's straps have a very nice feel to them, and are extremely polished as far as finish and fit are concerned. Double keepers, slightly wider than most, but I love them. They are not too thick, but just the right size and stiffness.
The only one small complaint I would have is the black edge paint came off a bit more easily that other straps I have used as you can see in the above photo. But you can also see that the leather has great texture to it. The way he prepares his leathers definately make the strap look fantastic, and not to mention the perfect wave of the stitching. Fantastic! His straps are also some of the nicest I've seen matched up with PVD buckles.
Overall, I feel that Greg's Straps offer a lot of really nice features, along with a very nicely designed custom buckle, with his GSD logo engraved into it. His buckles are chunky, but not overly wide, and match up with his strap style perfectly. They offer a chunkier alternative to the standard Officine Panerai fare, without getting too thick and obtrusive, making his straps a perfect choice for daily wear.
