Pulcher's Leather is a Luxury Leather Goods company based in Indonesia. They have a range of products from Jackets to Camera Straps and Watch Straps, but today all I'm going to be looking at is the Watch straps, specifically for Panerai watches. Pulcher's focuses on several different styles of straps, but the one I am reviewing today is a vintage style strap that is simulated to look like old ammo leather, but is really new soft calf leather that is hand dyed and tooled with ammo style markings. Very cool!

This particulat strap comes from their "ammoed" line, and is called the 3rd Colony, and features some cool markings on it and some nice dye-work giving the strap a cool vintage look, but on a super-soft calf leather strap.

Stitching is well done, and the seam for the foldover of the back of the strap on the buckle side is nicely hidden in line with the box stitch. Nicely done here - not many would appreciate or notice the effort, but the result is a cleaner construced strap. The underside of the strap is finished exactly the same as the top. One other thing I noticed about this strap is when you bend it, it reveals some different shades of color in the leather.

The single extra-wide keeper is very soft and features some tooling detail - in this case a Swiss cross. The keeper is glued together and then double X-stitched. It is fairly loose and easy to slide the tail into when wearing the strap. Often keepers are too tight, especially when they are softer and it is hard to slide the tail into them when putting on the watch. Not the case here.

Lightly burnished edges shows the classic foldover construction, with no filler material here. Just the quality top grain leather, which is very soft, and smells quite nice - easily the softest most comfortable ammo-style leather strap that I own.

The example I have here doesn't quite look exactly like the one on the website, this one looks a bit less rustic and worn but I am fine with that. Please note that the strap only has two buckle holes, which looks pretty cool and ammo-like, but could be a problem based on your wrist size. I'm guessing the length you pick would determine what wrist size it works with, mine came in the 125/80mm size, and I fit the smaller hole a bit on the snug side with my 6.75" wrists.

Overall, I think this is a very satisfying strap and a very solid buy at $150. Not a lot of guys out there making this level of quality of re-created ammo style straps, in a super soft and comfortable calf leather. I don't know about you, but the first time I put on a real ammo strap, I couldn't believe how stiff it was. These are like the polar opposite. Almost all the style with none of the discomfort. Highly recommended.
