SanDave specializes in mostly hunky chunky and unique Crocodile straps and the occasional ammo leather and new leather straps. Some of his signature styles include the Yoda Nubuck Crocodile or Monster Crocodile straps, which are very distinctive and heavily grained Crocodile leathers.
The strap that I have is Natural Crocodile and very thick, with three-layer construction and pictured with a Strap Culture Legend II buckle. Top layer is crocodile, with middle layer of leather and the backing is leather too. The leather is a medium brown color that compliments the natural Croco very well.
Holes are punched for 6-8 inch wrists and there is a single medium-wide keeper. The keeper on this one is a bit looser than usual and has a very pliable construction. I was hoping the keeper would be more rigid, but it does the job very well actually. Strap thickness is about 5.5mm, and really stands out.
The natural crocodile kind of darkens when it touches moisture, and doesn’t completely lighten again afterwatches so there is a lot of distinctive shades that the strap takes on after using it for a while. This is likely not going to happen with the dyed Crocodile varities.
Overall, this is a sweet strap that gives the watch a very rugged crocodile look. Not for everyone as it is not a dressy strap at all. My dad saw the strap and commented that it looked like fake crocodile and did not like it at all. His tastes run somewhat more conservative than mine so that is not surprising.
