Hi guys, we are very curious about what country that has made the best straps there.

So What country do you guys think that made the best straps? And why?

Please tell the answers based from on your experience :)

That's a tough one.. Its easier to say where the best leathers come from, but there could be good strapmakers anywhere since all countries have great craftsman.

It's fairly well known that Northern Europe has the best grade of leather available to them, followed by North America. Once you get to Asia and south of the Equator generally, things fall off. That said, some of the most interesting distressing and finishing comes from Asian vendors, but if you want straps featuring top-notch hides you don't order from there. Unless of course they're importing :)

There are a lot of very good Asian strapmakers - Calvalcanti, Wotancraft and Atelier DuCuir come to mind. I'm not sure what kind of leather Wotancraft uses, but Atelier DuCuir uses almost exclusively European and North American leathers.

Don't disagree. I'm referring to the leather stock they typically have access to, not what they do with it.
