Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. I'm about to buy my first Panerai. For months I have had three favorites; The Breguet XXI, The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chrono and Panerai 236 daylight (I'm buying a used one because I never seem to win on that lottery), and I have had a hard time deciding which one to get.

My base demands are:

-Steel watch
-Steel bracelet (or the possibility to change the straps for steel bracelet).
-I need a chronograph, since I use it a lot.
-Size between 42-47 mm.

Extra nice features I'd be glad to have:

-Polished (the whole watch/bracelet or parts of it)
-See-through back
-Preferably I would like a rattrapante/split second, since it would be even better for me (therefore the Doppelchrono from IWC also was a choice in the beginning but in the end I thought it was a bit too similar to my current watch). But rattrapantes seems to be a bit over the top moneywise for me.

After comparing them in lots of different angles the conclusion was that the Panerai PAM 236 would suite me the best. Big, robust, steel bracelet, chrono and of course really good looking. (Note that I live in a pretty small town in Sweden, so I don't have the possibility to go around the corner to an authorized dealer to have a live-look at it).

But... after a while when looking (at the internet) the 1950 Flyback (PAM 212 or PAM361) started to look extremely nice. And compared to the 236 it has polished bezel and see-through back. The only set back is that it doesn't have a steel bracelet. With that it would have been the perfect one.

I have been looking around for info on what steel bracelets would fit the 212 or 361. There seems to exist OEM bracelets (not original) in very good quality on, for example Ebay, that fits 44mm Panerais. But others state there are different steel bracelets for different 44mm watches, which might suggest I need to find a bracelet exactly made for the PAM212 or 361.

Does any one know anything about the possibilities getting a steel bracelet for a Panerai PAM212 or 361? Problems? Tips?

Tips on other models are also of course welcome.

Cheers,

Dan

Hi Dan,

the bracelet is available only for Panerai Luminor watches in a variety of materials and finishes according to the watch. It is integrated with the case and therefore not interchangeable with a leather strap for Luminor watches with a 44 mm diameter case

And in terms of PAM 212 - good choice ! ;)

Now thats a beauty you have got there:)

Ok, so that means a PAM 212 can't have a steel bracelet:( Hmmm...I wonder if I can live with that...

So, you mean these bracelets would fit the 212?

Hehehe..I'm confused now, maybe I'm tired. For a 44mm Panerai, is there a matching steel bracelet that can be bought from Panerai (or aftermarket)? If not, it seems a bit weird that a 212 owner can't have a steel bracelet if he wants. But there's always the possibility to buy another watch ofc:)

(I'm sorry if I sound really stupid here).

Regards,
Dan

They do have steel bracelets but I'm not sure if they have one for a PAM 212 : http://www.panerai.com/s_page.xpd?id_li ... logia=3651

Just call them :-)
I prefer the leather stuff.

Cheers,
Alex

I don't like non-OEM bracelets personally...

Good choice - the OEM bracelets are much better if you need to have a bracelet. Especially the older two-piece bracelets. Very nice.
