Just got this OEM Brown (Taupe?) Buffalo...can't say it's fantastic on the 199 but here's a pic anyway...the strap itself is superb, very supple and comfortable. Available both in BA and BDR. Ian |

Now there's another coincidence . I just got this morning, a couple of OEM straps from a source in Canada and i enquired what was left in their inventory, as i have a few $'s lurking in a Paypal account. This is what i was sent via email this morning. And these two actually arrived in todays post. They're to convert my PAM 89 back to original specification of Dark Blue alligator deployant and obviously a new rubber was needed. I suspect the rubber is the wrong vintage for an 89 but it will live it's life in the box anyway. All i've got to achieve now it a Ti deployant clasp, short of giving the AD £250 that is. |

Is the brown buffalo BA or BDR? Can't tell from the photo. BA = Boucle Ardillon - normal flip buckle BDR = Boucle Deployant Reglable - Deployant buckle Differences here |

The question has been asked, for both that strap and the black 'fabric' item next to it. I think that's the same as fitted on the 213 now. At the right price, normally half to two thirds of AD prices, i may just have the pair if they're BDR's. It can be a present to me, by me, for me Edit. I've just got the prices of the two straps mentioned. $150 for the Brown Buffalo (it is BDR) and $100 for the Black fabric item. i'm trying to negoiate a deal. I've already had four from this source. I'll see if a regular customer discount can be achieved |

Still on the OEM strap craze eh Sporty old boy? I never warmed up to the OEM straps, the after market straps from MF, Heroic, and CS are so much more interesting I can't say I ever felt the need to stick with the oEM stuff, unlike what with breitlings for example. That said, that is a nice strap, and Panerai do make the best Deployants out there. The 199 sure is unique, maybe it would look better on a rubber or carbon strap? That supple leather would kill on a base Luminor though! |

Glad to see you're still with us Altair, so what's new ? As to the OEM straps, I have to admit I quite like 'em - but I'd be the last to say they're the be all and end all. There are loads of great straps out there, but the difficulty for me is to be able to see them - you see, I have to see and touch 'em before I buy them - something I can do with the OEM straps at my AD, but sadly not easy to do for the "others" 308 on it's way from Neuchatel today (22nd December)...oh goody!! |

I do dig that brown buffalo OEM strap.. has a bit of distressed look that's not usually on most OEMs. |
