Is there a website or where can I take my US (recently imported) , I series, PAM 210 and check as to whether is a 'real' Panerai? I have seen some incredible copies and I am still sceptical.
Many thanks

You can take it to your local AD, they should be able to tell you.

Thanks. I now discovered that Panerai can offer that service, along with a certificate of authenticity for only £35.

My PAM210 turned out to be a real one...
However and for all those interested here is the latest for UK (Europe). If you think your PAM might be a replica, you will need to send it to the Country Service Centre (address on the Panerai Website) Note you can not take it to them! Has to be posted.....
In the UK the cost of checking the watches was £35 + return postage (max insurance £2,500). In return you get an authenticity certificate. However and since mid October 08 the policy changed. they now have to send all watches to Switzerland for checking. New cost? 300 Euros, P&P and 4-6 weeks wait! The reason is that they discovered some really good fakes which need to be checked by the people who make them!

Thanks for the info - very useful.

Sadly, the fakes are getting better and better. My AD recently sent in a watch to Panerai for cleaning and polishing, only to be informed that it was in fact a fake - now he has to tell the chap who brought it in to him that he won't be getting it back!

Panerai policy is to offer A: that you keep the watch and they then take you to court, or B: they keep (and destroy) the watch. Sadly both options mean you lose...
