So, how many of you travel with your PAM?

They are so noticable and I wonder if any travels with them or do you just leave it at home and go with a 'beater'?

Im on the fence on this one as I really don't want to get jacked when I am with my family (2 young kids).

Thoughts? I'm not too concerned with air travel or hotels.... usually stay in great spots. Worried more about when I go out and sightsee.

I think it depends where you going & how you're travelling locally. On business I generally have no issues, I was happy to go to Georgia & Russia. However if I was going to explore the same places on holiday, maybe on foot or taxis I would probably not.

If it was me & the trip was informal, I'd stick my beater on. One less thing to worry about while your on holiday.

all the time. most people have no idea what they are and pay little or no attention. if you're wearing a rolex, everyone knows what they are. be situationally aware of your surroundings and don't worry about it. i've been all over with my pam and prefer to wear it than any other watch i own.

Thanks for your responses! Guess it's time to 'retire' my trusty TAG 6000 SEL as my companion on holidays. It has been everywhere and dunked in many oceans. So many memories since 94.

Now it's 312's time to see the world. Now I'm just struggling to find the perfect travel strap. I don't really like the rubber strap as it's quite informal and makes wearing a suit while on holidays awkward.

Any suggestions on a classy yet 'waterproof' strap?

Wear mine all the time, most people either don't know or assume its fake. You could wear a leather strap in the evening and take a rubber for the day, quick change on the new ones.

Assuming it's properly insured, why not wear it everywhere, isn't that why you bought it :?

Of course there are sensible precautions to make sure of, but in the scheme of things there isn't a crime wave of expensive watches being stolen, even in 'bad' countries.

Just traveled with my 312 and 359 and had no problems. Wore one on the plane and had the other in a travel case in my carry on bag. Locked them in the room safe when not wearing them.

Any time I leave town the 112's on a Nato of some sort. You can sweat into them, rinse them in the sink, wear it in the pool etc. Plus, an appropriate Nato is perfectly appropriate with most suits and certainly business casual wear. Plus, you can take it on and off without having to use a tool. Best travel strap ever.

I usually take a few watches with me including PAMs and Breitlings / Omegas. I don't worry about it much. As others have said, most people only see a "nice watch" or a "Rolex". I very rarely see other than Rolex in the "wild".

I agree with pretty much all of these posts. I only have one PAM (91), it's insured, and I wear it everywhere because I just like wearing it. I usually use the rubber strap when I'm at the beach, but after reading 'peezie's' comment I've just ordered a Nato strap to try out.

Keeps the back of the watch off your wrist in hot weather, super comfy. You'll forget it's on. It's funny, the more I talk about them the more I wonder why I only seem to wear them when I'm out of town LOL

I always take one of my watches with me when I travel.. sometimes more, depending on where I am going. The rest go into safety deposit.

Being in Canada, I have to make sure the watch has Canadian papers so I don't have any problems coming back into the Country with it afterwards if I am leaving the Country.
