My AD called , he was trying to get me a 233 but said that he could not at this time, DAMMIT!!!! Anyway he did get a shipment in, and said that he would reserve the rarest, the Destro, for my consideration.

Well knowing how collectible this watch is i thought I would give it a look, left me quite disapointed. Very "meh" to be honest. Dial is too simple for me, my PAM 111 has more apeal to me. The left handed crown is uncomftorbale as I am right handed and wear my watch on the left, and it is more expensive that a similar right handed model. What gives? I understand that with panerai in general you either get it or dont, but this one really left me underwhelmed.

So my question to all you Destro lovers, what is it other than the relative rarity that attracts you?

Simply the fact that it is so different. I rather like the fact that I'm one of a minority, even if no-one else around here actually realises what on earth I'm wearing on my wrist !!

Strangely, I get more comments when (as today) I wear a Rolex than when I wear a Panerai - possibly because Rolexes are so well known...

If I had the opportunity to get hold of a 217 I wouldn't hesitate.

I really am not that big on the rarity myself, so i suppose that must be it. A great watch for sure for any Lefty I am sure.

Sigh..... really bummed about the 233. I was SO looking forward to it, what a great watch, 1950 case, in house movement, sandwich dial, DATE, 8 day power reserve...that amazing domes crystal. the list keeps going on.

Incidentely, the AD was wearing a 292 on a yellow croc strap, though I usually hate obnoxiousely colored straps this combo with the black ceramic and bright yellow was quite stunning.
