Just purchased a base PAM000.

Wondering whether one winds the OP movement until it is "tight"?

I have had an Asian "Unitas 6947" movement on another watch and it winds tight, but the Panerai never seems to be fully wound.

My Zero needs upwards of 50 turns to fully wind the spring - so a few more, a few less would seem reasonable. I wind it until it becomes firm - there doesn't seem to be any warning on these movements, either they're free and you wind, or they stop and it's wound!

Thanks for the advice. I finally have a feel for the resistance that constitures fully wound status for this movement.
