wanted to relay my panerai CS story...

i brought my 233K into the BH boutique a few weeks ago. i discovered some very fine hairline scratches on the crystal of the watch. i cannot tell for certain if it was on the outside or inside. jason at the boutique told me it looks like it was on the outside. oh well so we decided to send it in and get the official word and estimate before any work was to be done, since i was there already and it costs nothing to send watch in/get it back...i was either going to spend the $300-$350 plus labor or going to use the diamond paste myself. i called jason a week later and he said panerai was moving it along, and no word from them means good news (i don't have to pay).

i followed up on its progress continually and today i got the watch back...brand new crystal, plus since they had to remove the case and movement it went through the 8 day quality control and they tested everything, from the different complications to how the movement is running in various positions (crown up/down/sideway/on back/etc). the printout is kinda cool. everything free, and a bonus travelling case...maybe i got lucky but it made me feel good :D . when picking up the 233 i dropped off my 190 to be polished.

You'll find that any time you send a watch in they return it in that little box...I've got a couple and they're really useful for putting my photographic filters in - perfect fit. Interestingly they don't actually come back from Richemont in that - they're usually in a plastic bag ( :o ) and it's the dealer who provides the box...
