Some chronograph Panerais have the term "Daylight" in their name, e.g. PAM 251. What does this term suggest?

Daylight is the bit between morning and evening...sorry, couldn't resist that.

This watch takes it's name from the film "Daylight" (1996) in which Sylvester Stallone wore a Panerai Luminor. At this time, he ordered a small batch to be made for him, and these became the 'Slytech' Luminor and had his signature engraved on the back.

Stallone is often seen wearing Panerai - in Rambo 4 he is wearing a black PVD Marina Militare.

Before Richemont took over the brand in 1997 (At first under the name Vendome as the group was called at that time, hence pre-Vendome etc.) Panerai had produced relatively few watches. Panerai agreed to make a 'limited' series, the Slytech previously mentioned, and things slowly took off from there.

Panerai don't engage in 'product placement' in films, and it was the personal choice of Stallone to wear the watch in the film. However, on a personal level, Panerai have been known to 'lend' watches to actors, and in one instance waited a considerable time before the 'loan' was returned after one of the 'Transporter' series starring Statham...
