Hi Tom, and welcome to PaneraiSource. I'm not too knowlegable on the Ferrari models. The case is really nice, but I can't get my hear around wearing a watch with 'Ferrari' written all over it...just my opinion of course. The case is the closest thing to the Panerai '1950' style, and as an alternative, the Panerai range offers a lot of choice, and many models a good deal cheaper than the Ferrai range. What exactly draws you to Panerai? If you give us some clues, perhaps we can help you in your search... |

my opinion...ferrari's a sweet car, panerai is a sweet watch. if you want to buy a ferrari, buy a ferrari. if you want to buy a panerai, buy a panerai. the 2 put together don't really do it for me. since i can't afford a ferrari i'll stick with the panerai not sure how much the fer005 is but you can find some nice pams in the 4-6k range, luminors and radiomirs...i got my eyes on a rad 210 base right now. |

the things that draw me to panerai's..... well..... I love the case's, how well they sit on the wrist, the simplisitly look, the hard to find factor and the over all quality, as i said i dont really no to much about the movments so i though i could get some info on them on this website . i am really looking for the case shape of the fer00005 i think its amazing! but i do agree with the sort of tack factor with ferrari writen all over it .i should of mentioned DO i like the pam111 aswell. any idias? |

The simplest would be either a 'Base' Luminor (Logo) or 'Marina' (111) or a Radiomir 210 The 1950 style cases start with the 212 in the current range, but the new manifattura P.900x movements use the same case with an in-house movement which, in my view, is very nice indeed It all rather largely depends on what you're prepared to pay... The 112 is gorgeous, and has an exhibition back - and it just so happens there's a very nice Logo (PAM00000) in the 'Buy/sell' section here... |

if the ferrari model lights your candle, then get it.....the most important thing about a watch is what YOU think of it! here in scotland, ferrari models are pretty easy to find and available at a discount....people generally buy the panerai models (unless they have a ferrari!) |

imo, I think all PAM Ferrari models are overpriced and all ugly. Pinnifirina didnt work their magic into the design as they do into their cars. |
