I'm alledgedly first on my AD list for a 312 also, so i am expecting a call this month. I'm not convinced i'll end up buying one though. The dealers stance is, yes they're expensive but it's now 'in house' movements, like that's an excuse to charge more
I can't in my mind reconcile the difference in price between the 104 and the 312 at £1000 more currently
I cant really justify why, but i like the 320 more than the 312 and that, imo, is way to expensive.
For comparison:
In the UK a 104 is currently £3300, rising to app £3500 01/04/09. In comparison a 312 is £4300, £800 more
A PAM 88 is currently £3900, rising to app £4200 01/04/09. A 320 is £5100, a cool £900 more.
Much as i like the brand, i struggle to justify in my head the cost of the new in house models, even more than the original workhorses, with reworked 'bought in' movements. I think like some other makers, they are now bordering on talking the P.
I will go and look when i get the call and if i'm blown away will possibly still buy it. I suspect though i will maintain my interest in all things Titanium and in the original Luminor cases. I will certainly not easily be parted from £5K for a 320, as much as the 'look' appeals to me.
The more i think on it, the less likely i am to buy into the new ranges
