If all goes to plan, i could well be a 233 owner on Saturday morning. I've been hovering and teetering on the new models and i'm still not convinced, though Panerai UK told me just this morning, i am via my dealer, #1 for the very first 320 into the UK :D That assumes i liked it enough to buy it of course.

My criteria is simple, a sensibly big watch with a clear legible dial and i know of no other brand that provides it quite like Panerai. I've handled a 233 and was impressed. A weighty but somehow balanced watch, i like it. The one i'm due to look at is in private hands and offered at a sensible and realistic price for a used watch. My problem is my perfectionist/OCD streak and i suspect it will need some case TLC, which means back to the factory as the RIS service centres aren't allowed to open the Manifattura models yet.

Will i buy it? i don't know. I want to but will have to see how used it is against my anality to such imperfections as may exist. We are talking significant £'s from my point of view! I'll let 'you' know if i do or don't :)

good luck with it. i just couldn't get use to the domed crystal making the dial look even smaller. i think with the 47mm se the domed crystal would look amazing! it was def heavy and you could feel it on your wrist also.

Bailed on this deal. I couldn't bring myself to buy at this level of expense knowing i'd submit it for valet at the factory, with the resultant cost and three month wait.

There are other things to buy with less hassle.
