I recently came across someone I know wearing a very large (he said it was a 47mm) Panerai Marina Militare watch that he said he got used online. I got a chance to briefly check it out, but didn't want to seem too snoopy so I gave it back after a few seconds of holding it in my hands. To be honest I would guess it was a fake, but I want to make sure my buddy didn't get taken before I say anything. I checked PaneraiSource and I couldn't find a Marina Militare that was 47mm and was right handed. The picture of the only 47mm Marina Militare Special Edition is a Destro version (left handed) with the crown on the left. My buddy's was right handed. Are there versions out there of a 47mm MM that are right handed? I hope so for my buddies sake. Otherwise I want to help him if he got ripped off. Any help would be appreciated. |

The PAM127 is virtually as you desribe, an SE from 2002. It's pretty much identical to the 217 from 2005 but not a destro like the 217 However it's not marked as a Marina Militare, so your suspicions may be well founded. Let's hope your buddy didn't part with too many $'s |

If as you describe, sounds close but not right....therefore I'd assume fake til proven otherwise. like baz, hope he got it for a fake price!... |
