 Post subject: PVD or DLC?

Hello. Im thinking of sending my pam111 out to get the pvd treatment. But which is better, pvd or dlc...any recommendations or pix would be grateful.

DLC is a type of PVD coating.. PVD is the name of the process, and DLC is the coating that is created. I believe there are other types of PVD coatings also.

ooooooh, ok...i did not know that. Can you recommend any places/websites that do good work where I can send my watch to? Any pros/cons I should be aware of?

As I recall, DLC was the 'thinnest' of the coatings... I only remember bits of what I had read before when I had sent a few knives I had owned to get coated with a group of other people. DLC coatings are popular with the tactical knife collector crowd.

As for a watch, I would think that the procedure must be more careful since you have to remove the movemnt and send the case in to be done separately. I don't know what the challenges and issues are with this type of work, but I know there are a bunch of guys that have done this... maybe Paneristi or Watchuseek has some guys familiar with this type of work?
