Hello. Im thinking of sending my pam111 out to get the pvd treatment. But which is better, pvd or dlc...any recommendations or pix would be grateful. |

DLC is a type of PVD coating.. PVD is the name of the process, and DLC is the coating that is created. I believe there are other types of PVD coatings also. |

ooooooh, ok...i did not know that. Can you recommend any places/websites that do good work where I can send my watch to? Any pros/cons I should be aware of? |

As I recall, DLC was the 'thinnest' of the coatings... I only remember bits of what I had read before when I had sent a few knives I had owned to get coated with a group of other people. DLC coatings are popular with the tactical knife collector crowd. As for a watch, I would think that the procedure must be more careful since you have to remove the movemnt and send the case in to be done separately. I don't know what the challenges and issues are with this type of work, but I know there are a bunch of guys that have done this... maybe Paneristi or Watchuseek has some guys familiar with this type of work? |
