Been looking at the 320 lately... what do you guys think of the PAM320 compared to the Pam312? THe GMT is kinda funny on the 320, but its an extra complication and it can be pretty discreet..

I like the 320 a lot, and it might be my favorite of the 3 P.900x movement variants. The seconds-reset function on this watch is both a big draw and deterrent for me because while I love this complication, I was afraid that it might be more likely to go wrong since these are such new movements.

If I didn't worry about potential reliability issues, I'd go for the 320. However, I'm very happy with my 312 and have no regrets.

Yeah, I'm quite interested in picking one of those up. I have some cashola saved up for a rainy day, but if I pick up a 320, I will probably still sell my 90 since I only want one black dialed 44mm Panny at a time.

Funny you brought this up. I was just looking through the catalog last night and admiring the 320! I wondered why more people haven't bought this piece over the 312. I think the extra complication is very attractive yet low key.....go for it!

hmm funny...i also thought the GMT is out of place on the 320 also, whereas on the 233 it seems more natural. how much more is it for that little GMT hand 320 vs the 312 :)

More than just the GMT hand.. there is a power reserve indicator and a second reset too.

I think most people don't feel its worth the extra $1000 for the 320.

I have a 320 Coming!!!

Personally, I like the GMT - but I've noticed that some on the market have a black GMT and others have a silver GMT - Panerai shows the silver hand in their marketing materials. Does anyone know what gives? A

I'm personally holding out for the 321 - I like the PRI on the front and for the same price :)

I bought 320 just a month ago as I posted below.

320 vs 312.
In terms of looks, they are so similar and no difference at all to non-Panerai freak. And even to Panerai fun, no much difference since GMT hand can be hidden below hour hand if (or when) you do not use it. Only a difference is the letters of "GMT" or "MARINA".
In terms of function, GMT/Power Reserve/Second hand reset are all great. If you do not think those are not necessary, then, off course, 312 is not a wrong choice at all.
In term of price, ..... it's up to you how do you think.

I travel a lot in different time zones and 320 was merely an ideal watch to me.

I pulled the trigger on the 320, so that is inbound at the moment. Mine has a silver GMT hand.

Having worn a 90 for such a long time, it is refershing to have no PRI on the dial.

If its worth it you, go for it! I personally picked up the 320 more because it was available as opposed to wanting it more than the 312. Personally if they were both in front of me and I could save $1000, I would have probably bought the 312 instead

However, having thought about it some more, I'm glad I picked up the 320 because I really dig the rear power reserve and seconds reset feature.. very cool. The GMT hand is good too, though I personally would have liked to see it on a 24hr scale rather than 12.

I agree with the 24 hour scale but that would have required numbers on the bezel (rolex gmt ii) or 24hour markers on the dial (navitimer world) either of these options would drastically change the look.

I bought the 312 because I got a great deal on it preowned so I can't be that picky....I do love it tho. It gets more head turns that any watch I've ever owned....and no one has a clue what it is or what it costs which I love.

There should be pros and cons about 12hr or 24 hr scale GMT hand. Personally I love 12 hr hand and much prefer it to 24 hr.

I believe 24hr GMT hand is more popular and in fact I have never seen 12 hr hand other than Panerai models. But I was shocked when I found how effective 12 hr was, i) can be hidden under the hour hand ii) looks like more second hour hand than 24 hr scale iii) no 24 hr index is required. And it makes 320 something special.

I have used a few digital GMT models, Rolex GMT-Master II, Breitling Colt GMT, but I think 320 is one of the best GMT watches in the market overall.

I have used a few GMT models as well... including Rolex GMT, Omega Seamaster GMT, Glycine Airman D24, etc... and I have found that the ability to hide the GMT hand is handy, as I can do that with the Glycine Airman D24 due to the double 24hour hands. The only other 12hr GMT watch I can recall is the Breitling Chronomat Longitude, which also has the feature to hide the GMT hand.

Of all of them, however, I really like the Rolex GMT IIc so far as I like the way the main time is set in clicks, and changes with the date. Since when I use my watch, I keep the GMT hand on Home Time, and I change the main hour hand to the local time, which is easiest to do with the Rolex. I believe the Omega also changed that way, but I can't remember anymore.

320 works in the same way as Rolex GMTII except 12hr/24hr scale. I also like to use in that way and that is one of the points I love 320.
With 300m water resistance (vs 100m of GMTII or 233), again 320 is a superb GMT watch.
