What model would you guys recommend for a newbie? I'm not overly keen on the base models without the seconds hand as I think they look a bit too plain. Would prefer a sandwich dialled model. Budget-wise was looking to spend between £2.5-£3k. At the moment the watch I'm considering is the 111, the only thing I'm not sure on is that the watch doesn't have an auto movement. Is this watch brand new within my budget at all? Also, could anyone list the models which have display backs, as far as I know 111 and 112 do. There are so many different models, that for a newbie it can be a little over-whelming |

Listing all the models with DB's would be a lot, but in your budget I think the 111,112,113,114,176 and maybe a couple other similar current models are the only ones. I don't think there are any DB models that are automatic in your budget, but you could try and get a pre-owned 312 in close to that range probably and it would have the sandwich. I think the manual winds are great for newbies.. the 111 and 112 are the perfect newbie Panerai's in my opinion. Price is good, availability is good, and they are very much Panerai at the heart. Not sure what the poundage price is for the 111, but in the US I think it is around $5000-5500. |
