Good choice - crystal back, Luminor base - around £2300 (new) UK I think - 2500 made in the series 'J' (2007) |

I can't get over the price, it looks great value for money! Excuse the ignorance, but what's the difference between this and others at £5/6,000? Damian |

Damian That's a bit like "How long's a piece of string" isn't it?! Hard to say until we know what you're comparing it with. The Base is basic Decide what you want from your watch, then see what's available in any given range - and moreover, if you can afford it! I like my 219 (the Destro base) for it's simplicity.

I agree - in principle - that's why we 'all' have more than one! No self respecting paneristi would have a collection without a base model |

Yeah.. I use the date feature a lot on my watches, but I think the 112 is such a classic panerai with the clean simple Panerai looks and the manual wind that make it a great started Panerai. Actually when I had the Franck Muller Casablanca and IWC Portuguese Chrono, both watches did not have a date, and I found myself struggling a bit with them... so not a daily wearer for me. |
