A couple months ago I was watching "Steak Paradise" on the travel channel, when I was really impress by the watch the rep for the restaurant Megu was wearing. I did some research, and eventually figured it out that it was a panerai. It was this glimpse on TV that sparked my interest in panerai, so I when I learned the show was being aired again as a repeat, I got excited. I thought it would be cool to share, so here's a pic of the shot that introduced me to these wonderful watches, if you'll pardon the poor quality pic. I like how he shows you can wear even a sub with a suit, although it looks like you have to adjust your shirt cuff!

So my question for y'all is, how did you get introduced to Panerai? A friend? A movie? A delicious TV show?

Welcome!

Good idea for a thread.

My all-consuming passion for all things 'P' began on a routine visit to my Breitling AD. I went to see what he had on display, and we got talking, as one does  and I noticed a peculiar watch on his wrist. Naturally I asked what it was and the seed was sown.

The watch he was wearing was this one

I wasn't as impressed by the size as the unique crown guard, which really caught my eye.
This is the 253 Regatta SE (2006) - I hate copying anybody, but I just have to have that one, and given that they are a limited edition of 500 I consider myself very fortunate to own one now...sadly, it doesn't end there :D
