Hi,

I bought my first Panerai (PAM000) on the weekend and am a bit concerned that the outer box serial and production numbers do not match that of the one on the caseback, the case number (OP 6728) however does match. I bought the watch from AD and I believe it is a genuine Panerai, should I be concerned about this?. I phoned the AD and they said I could send the warranty card back and that they would give me a new one with the correct numbers on, no mention of the box though and as long as the case number matches that it is fine. They also tell me that mine was the only PAM000 in the shop as they had ordered it for me. Any info gratefully recieved.

Simon

The box numbers should match but the AD may have given you a box from a different watch by accident..

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking that also, but the dealer told me he only had one in. Here are some pics, what do you think.

The watch is real, especially if you bought it from an AD. It looks real too.

Well the box sticker numbers should match the watch caseback. If he only has one watch now maybe the boxes were mixed up previously. As long as the warranty book details match with the watch i wouldn't be too bothered by the mis-matched outer box personally. Someone has been sloppy though in creating a mix-up at some point

Thanks for the replies guys, exactly as I thought, I have now stopped obsessing over the numbers not matching :D . I will send the warranty card back to have the correct serial put on it as he copied the one from the box. The stickers in the warranty book are also matching the box not the watch so it must have happened in the factory. Never mind, I am now enjoying the watch much more and it is my fav in the collection that I have. All the rest I have are automatics, I find it satisfying having to wind the watch each morning, does that make me a sad git! lol.
