Hi Guy's,

I brought myself a PAM104 3 weeks back and as I was getting out of the car yesterday, I scratched it on the wall (Don't know how I did that), does anyone know if I can get it repaired from a reputable place in London. :(

Thanks in advance

What did you scratch, the case, crystal or both..............and how badly? A wall suggests an unpleasant outcome :(

If you've had it just three weeks, was it new and is it insured? Arguably the best place to send it, is the Panerai service centre in London (you can't deliver by hand) but if the scratching is heavy you may be looking at a new case in the extreme, which pretty obviously won't come cheap.

Can you put up some pictures showing the damage?

Thankfully it's just the case, it's not bad at all but it's driving me mental.

Brand new and just trying to sort out some insurance quotes for it at the moment, I have been getting some ridiculous quotes, more expensive than my BMW M3. LOL

I will contact the Panerai London service centre.

Many thank for your help

I will post pictures as soon as I can

FWIW, i believe a standard Luminor case is about £1500 to buy plus the 'labour' to swap everything. BMW are bad for sure but Panerai/Richemont have some way to go to be on equally extortionate terms with them imo.

It's all an expensive business though for sure :(

I bet it is driving you mental! It would me too. If its not that bad maybe you could try the trusty old cape cod polishing cloths?. Get your pics up, sure someone will be able to offer advice.

A polished steel case making contact with a wall, will i suspect need more than a Cape Cod to rectify. Maybe a a machine polish at the service centre but that does remove metal of course :( The general rule seems to be, if you can feel any indent with a finger-nail, then it will likely be too deep to polish away.

If it's insured i would press for a new case personally, that's why you bought the insurance in the first place, as a safe-guard to protect your property 8-)

Sometimes if you get it properly machine polished even big nicks and dings go away.. and while they leave a big flattened spot where they used to be, its still a lot more desireable than a big ding, and usually only cost around $200 to fix... much less than a new case. Its its just the bezel, there is a guy on ebay that sells pre-owned Luminor bezels that he has swapped out of other watches... only $170 or so a bezel.
