I know, you guys want to slap me for even asking. My boyfriend wants to purchase either of these watches, and I keep telling him that Panerai is the way to go. I think Hublots are ugly personally. I feel the Panerai is the better choice because it has a clean, classic look. I was curious on what your personal take was on this dilema in my home.

Thanks all!

I think Hubs are far from ugly but with that said, I wouldnt buy one. Go for the Pam, everyday, all day!

Has anyone on here ever owned both? I am curious about the quality of one watch over the other also. I know Panerai is a great brand. I just want to know if Hublot is not as good on the quality scale..my thinking is yes to that but I have never owned either and I feel this is an important decision financially.

Nothing wrong with Hublot...
But you are absolutely correct, Panerai is the way to go..."the better choice"
So it is now your responsiblity to steer him straight...since you are obviously much quicker.
I would suggest you get him to a dealer with a nice selection of Panerai and try a few on his wrist,
also have him browse Martin Wilmsen's Photo Blog.
That should do it !

I had the same problem on deciding but between IWC and Panerai.

My wife saw both watches and when we looked at the IWC she said "It's nice, but it's not Panerai....the Panerai is.....sexy"

I have a PAM 312 now.
