Hello Guys -

I am debating between the 111 and 112.....what do you all think? Also, can someone explain the movement of these watches? They aren't automatic movements so does that means you have to wind them and they will work until you take them off? or does that mean you have to wind them every "x number of hours/day" even if you keep them in motion? I am guessing you wind them and the work until you stop moving them (or like 40 hours or so after you stop moving them)...thanks for the info!!

Basically that... if what you mean is you have to wind the watch, and the watch runs for around 40hours on a full wind, regardless of movement or anything. It simply is a manual winding watch. No amount of swinging your wrists will wind it for you.

Hello and welcome to the forum

The tech differences are essentially a second hand, a cosc certificate and £300.

But the real differences are only the look, I prefer the clean "base" look but each to their own.

As far as movement goes, manual wind is just that, you wind it up with the crown, the watch runs for around 50 hrs then stops, in practice you wind it a bit each day but movement of your wrist will NOT wind the watch.

The 111, 112 & 219 are ideal first models- absolute classics!

My choice is clear and easy, 112 all day every day. Classic, simple dial and no fuss or clutter. No one needs a seconds hand in daily life but some just prefer that look. Each to their own :)

I have a 112, 8-) well, two actually. Ones about to go off and be PVD'd :P

I agree with Baz, second hand adds clutter, not too much, but a little. Also what a second hand giveth it taketh away!!! By that I mean its nice to have one but once you have one you do find yourself constantly on the atomic clock worrying about if its gaining too many seconds!!! Or is that just me!

So in summary 112 is the winner in that two horse race.
