Hi guys, I just bought my first Panerai, a PAM312. I love it. Just a question. Is there a better way to change the date than moving the hour hand? Also because it has such a clean dial without the minuet bars, what is the best way to set the time accurately?

Frank

congrates on the wonderful watch. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the movement in the 312 so I can't say if it has a way to quickset the date.

no worries guys. went to richmond centre in sydney today. looks like it is not a quick date change system. by the hour hand only. I asked them about the straps, quite expensive, 420 aussie bucks with buckle. i am now trying to buy a couple of straps from other makers. they look pretty good too. Thanks Panerai Source. I am buying from Bas & Lokes in Sydney.

I do love wearing my PAM312.

I think the oem straps are way overpriced and at times boring. Make sure you check out the aftermarket strap reviews by Admin. He has done a wonderful job. There's such a great selection out there.

unlimited supply of aftermarket pm straps out there.

i had a 233 and even tho the movements are different some functions are probably the same. to set time accurately on the 233 i just set the time to any 5-min marker (12:20, 12:25, 12:30 etc) and sync it up to the atomic clock since the second hand hacks.
