Long time lurker here, first time poster. Was just wondering if I bought a pre-owned Panerai without box and papers, can you get replacements? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Sure you can get replacements !
Just get sure that you buy a real Panerai and not a fake.

Contact Panerai as well to assure the watch is not stolen....

Cheers,
Alex

Thanks Alex. 98% of any pre-owned watch I've purchased had the box and papers. Once in a while you get offered something nice that you don't want to pass up. I appreciate the feedback!

Can i disagree with Alex.

There is no way you will get via official sources a replacement box and papers. Yes you will find a box on eBay from time to time but remember you will need the correct interior style, there is more than one. You can obtain a replacement COSC but the watch has to be returned to the factory for service and and a new test. You will not get movement stickers nor a warranty card from a dealer and even an instruction manual is not a replacement item from Panerai.

A loose watch needs to be considerably cheaper than a full set :!:

Thanks for that bit of info Baz, as I thought this was the case as well but did not want to say anything since I was not sure. AFAIK replacement boxes and papers are not obtainable from Panerai.

Yeah, sorry - my mistake !!!!
I was thinking he means with replacements stuff like strap, bezel....or whatever. That's the reason why I wrote "get sure the watch is not a fake or stolen"...
Didn't know that he means the box and papers.....

But what he can get : extract from the manufacturer's archives confirming their authenticity, based on the case and movement numbers.

Sorry and cheers,
Alex

Thanks everyone for the info. The good news is, I have an incoming pre-owned PAM 299 with all the boxes and papers. This is my first Panerai and I am very excited! I have a few Breitlings, Omegas, and a Rolex, but this is something I've been looking for, for a while. I'll post pics when I get it. :D Thanks guys!

Don
