hi everyone,

i just purchased my very first PAM 312 and had a quick question to everyone...i noticed that in real life the dial isn't as black as it can be and when i compare it to all the online photos it seems that the online photos show the dial to be pitch black but looking at my 312 it looks almost a bit charcoal...is this normal and i'm worrying too much or is there something wrong with my watch?

Also, the watch is supposed to have anti-reflection but shouldn't that mean it gets a blueish/greenish tinge when it's doing that. Mine doesn't seem to have that blueish/greenish tinge??

Thanks for your help and saving my sanity

I have included photos of the watch

None of my Pams have ever had a blue-ish tinge to them even though they are supposed to be AR coated.

As for the dial color, it is a matte black dial, so the matte finish kind of makes it look less black, that's all.

Looks normal, but when you get the first ding/scratch on it, all your first time "parenting" concerns & angst will go. And the answer to getting rid of SMALL scratches, cape cod cloth! Beware though, that the removal of small scratches means taking off a bit off the case material........... :!:

Please can you make a picture from the back as well ?

And don't take it personal, but the watch is a bit too big (large) for you :(

Cheers,
Alex

I thought the watch forums were supposed to be a bit nicer to the newbies than this. The guy just spent $7,000 or so on a watch and you're telling him that the watch is too big for him? I guess saying "don't take it personal", makes it fine?

If he likes his watch I don't think it should matter what Alex or anyone else thinks cuz his opinion is irrelevant.

Exactly ! And as long as he likes his watch, everything is fine.
It has nothing to do with being nice or rude, because I just gave my feedback what I think about the size, that's all.
It's a board for Panerai watches, right ? So own opinions are welcome otherwise we would have nothing to discuss and it doesn't make sense to say all the time "great, super, wonderful", otherwise it would get a bit boring here.
Not everything is perfect, so why not just saying it.....

Otherwise, nice watch !

Cheers,
Alex

Please see my answer above !
And should I just give positive feedback because he spent 7000 $ for a watch ????? That doesn't make sense.
Cheers,
Alex
