Hi people,

I wanna treat myself to a new watch and it's a toss-up between either a panerai or a rolex.

So, Panerai fans, give me 5 reasons why I should choose a Panerai over a Rolex!

I'm thinking of getting either a Panerai Luminor Marina, like this one:

Or a Rolex Daytona, maybe this one:

I've actually been considering a Rolex for my next purchase, more so than a Panerai... so maybe I'm the wrong person to answer here :) But that's more because I have Panerai's in the collection but no Rolexes at the moment. I am personally eyeing the black dialed two-tone Daytona.

What do you have already?

Currently I haven't got anything over special... a Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph. Looking for an upgrade though!

Sorry but when a manufacturer turns out in the region of 800,000 watches a year, albeit excellent quality, the sheer numbers make it less than special for me. Panerai produce in the region of 50 to 60,000 which brings it back into scale, at least for me.

Today I'm wearing a watch which is one of 400 - and it didn't cost an arm and two legs...but then I also drive an Audi, so don't trust what I say 8-)

YOU are on a Panerai forum so what do you expect? Go for the Panerai....Rolexes are a dime a dozen....Every mall jeweler sells them....plus there are tons of fakes compared to any other highend watch....
