I posted about this watch in another forum but now I am worried it may be a fake based on a response.

Anyone else who can chime in please do!!

I have only owned Breitlings in the past and do not know a lot of about Panerais. I purchased that watch for $3500 outside of ebay but with Paypal buyer protection.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm very skepitcal on most watches from eBay, this one is no exception, there is alot of scammers out there. The pictures are not good at all, if someone is selling a watch for $3,500 there should be some real good/close up's of the movement. The one picture has so much light reflecting that you cant really make out the dial! Also bought in Mexico on vac? since it sounds like you already paid him, take it to a AD ASAP and get it checked out!

Cheers

Thanks Chris... I have not received it yet and am actually trying to cancel the transaction but he was unable to catch his wife before she shipped it. There is Ultra Jewels in Mexico which is what he says the warranty card is stamped from 2005. Somebody else noted the box is a fake which raises suspicion.

What else on this from what you can tell would raise eyebrows? I know the strap is not original he bought it last year with deployment clasp.

The Pear Wood Box is not orignal to that watch, it has "FIRENZE 1860" it should just have "OFFICINE PANERAI" the rubber strap with the deployment looks all good, as for the rest the pictures they are just not that good. Once you get it take to the AD and get it checked out. If it's legit then you got a good deal, minus the box.

cheers

Seller says he knows nothing about a "fake box"... do the papers look counterfeit?

Thanks again Chris, you have been a lot of help, the pictures really dont show enough I guess. He said when I receive it I am welcome to inspect it and if I do not want it I can send it back for refund, seems like a very stand up guy. Although the strap is definitely not original he did buy it on ebay with deployment buckle for about $150.

It does worry me that he knows nothing of a fake box and Im sure you can acquire fake papers somehow out there!

As I mentioned in the other thread, the box and papers all look fake. The watch I can't say without better photos. Take some and post them.

Thanks Paneraisource, I have already worked out with the seller to send back for refund upon receiving the watch. He says he is unaware of it being fake and bought it in Mexico at Ultra Jewels. Before shipping back, I will open it up and take some pics of it and post here, but I am simply uncomfortable with the purchase at this point and sending it back. Sorry for duplicate post, I am new here and wasnt sure where to put the thread.

I would be weary but keep all documentation and tracking info because if he decides he doesn't want to refund it you will have to file a dispute with paypal if you used paypal or your credit card. Most people selling fakes posing as real aren't honest people. Good luck and hope you get your money back!

Glad the seller was honest and will give you a refund, because that is definitely fake. There isn't even a swan neck regulator!

Just to update everyone, Paypal initiated a return/refund for me after a few weeks of a dispute. I am now shopping for another one and came across this one...

http://www.network54.com/Forum/353390/t ... 28SoCal%29

I know that is a more reliable place, but am still a little gun shy after what I just went through, can anyone give opinions on this?

If anyone was posting fake pictures on Paneristi you'd hear about it pretty quick usually. I think you're okay there. Just check the seller out.

This is definitely authentic. Have you bought it?
