Of course, after I bought my Panerai, I found a place that gives 20% off. I know the mark up on all watches are at least 40%. Anyway, Park Cities Jewelers (214-520-6148) has a lot of highend watches at there store in Dallas, TX. It is located in an affluent area of downtown. I'm not advertising for this place but I thought I would throw it out there for those interested in deals. Speak to the owner at the store because he is the one that is willing to deal.

Good news - however, the flights from Toulouse would probably be expensive!!

Over here we're lucky if we get 5%...

Interesting. Whilst we are all aware of the global squeeze here in the UK, dealers are forbidden to discount upon pain of agency removal. 20% would be a dream here anytime from my experience.
As an aside, Rolex have confirmed another increase for January of a rumoured 15% and Cartier have confirmed increases are imminent but not how much. These increases are to bring the UK into line with Europe. Now that a Euro and Pound are worth pretty much the same i can see why but not how anyone will buy anything anymore. Luxuries are the first thing we all cut back on.

FYI...He is not an AD for Panerai but it an AD for other brands. My friend is the one that recommended him to me. He has a nice highend looking store. I know he does ship. Oh and the Panerai watches are not fakes in case you are wondering....

I had 10% off and I didn't even say a word. The dealer also said that I would get 15% off the next time I come!

Me: "Also on watches?"
Dealer: "Especially on watches!"

So, what is the percentage they earn?

Sportback, you live in France? But you're American?

No I'm not Amercian - I did live for a time in Houston, but I got better.... ;)

I'm an expatriate Brit living in rural France.

Good news on the discounts - my AD never actually gives me a fixed percentage discount, but I rarely pay list...I think it's all down to your face and the need of the AD to shift his stock.

When I visited his shop last Saturday both of his salespeople were dealing with potential Panerai clients...and they say there's a crisis? What crisis??

AD discount in the UK unheard of in my experience. Possibly a nominal percentage on accessories is about it :|

I believe though the UK has been enjoying the best pricing in Europe and stateside?

Is 20% about the best that can be expected for a Panerai discount?

If we're talking Panerai AD I'd be amazed at 10%...really

Where are you guys living that you get 20 or even 10% discount

In the UK, the AD would lose their appointment if they were found to be discounting at all, let alone at that level :?:

I wouldn't be surprised at 10-20% off list nowadays.. Panerai has got to be one of the hardest hit brands for resale value since the recession. With such small production, I would think a lot of buyers are influenced by online pricing and chit chat.

The country across the northsea. I must say that I've also bought something else with the watch. The AD told me that actually there's no discount on Panerai's. But she gave me 10% discount on the total price.

You could also see it as she gave me even more discount on the other product.
