I got four straps from them and I have to say I am blown away by the quality of these straps, they are extremely well made and very unique. yes they are quite expensive but worth it, I got two straps for deployant (brown ostrich and black calf) as well as two more thick straps. All fantastic straps, but one had a streak in the middle that was a diffferent shade, Ii emailed them pics and they immediately insisted that I chose ANY strap in ANY color and that I keep the original strap, excellent product that is well stood by. Pics and email log:

Hello,

I just got four straps from your company, all are of excellent quality but the mario Paci XI has a very visible quality flaw. As you can see in the images attached it has a strap long line in the middle that is a different shade than the rest of the strap, shouldnt quality control catch this? Quite displeased with it, looks different than the one in the picture on the site.

Regards,
Ahmed.

Hello,

Thank you for writing....although I wish it was for something other than a problem.

That being said, the strap does not look right......I am not sure if it got wet or not....but it should not have a "streak" down the middle. Did it happen on both the long side and the short side?

Please feel free to pick out a replacement strap....any color, any leather and price.....on either the http://www.tcstraps.com or the http://www.mariopaci.com websites and we will dispatch the replacement immediately.

I am truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards

Elliot

Hi Elliot,

First off thank you for the quick response, secondly let me say that I am very very impressed with the quality of the four straps I bought. The only issue was that very odd streak, yes it is on both the long and short end.

Very kind of you to offer a replacement strap, it is good to know that such a well made product is stood behind, I expected no less.

I was going to order this strap:
http://mariopaci.com/Merchant2/merchant ... ct_Count=3

But it is a few dollars more than the one I bought, I insist you allow me to pay the difference.

Thanks again
Ahmed.

Hello Ahmed,

Thank you for getting back to me.

The PAV 99 is a wonderful strap and a great color. I have one for you in 24/24 125/80 and we will ship it out to you tomorrow.

We guarantee our products 100% and it will be my pleasure to send this to you without any additional payment.

Regards

Elliot

Altair is spot on with his opinion of the Mario Paci straps . Since getting my Pam 104 I've gone strap mad myself and my two favourites are the Mario Paci PAV90 and the Santa Croce . :)

Oh my God - please don't listen to me!!

Seriously, I sometimes think that marketing policy for some manufacturers is to simply price the item high to create a sense of value. This can apply to anything really, from kettles to cars, and it works.

I fully appreciate the work that goes into making a leather strap, but get real here - when a strap costs more than a belt (More work, more materials etc.) then I personally have to start asking questions.

The second part of this is choice. If we want to pay the extra, or the premium, for having an 'xxx' or 'yyy' strap, then why not? I have one aftermarket strap (A Greg Stevens which is great) the rest are OEM which cost a b**** fortune. The main reason I buy OEM is that I can see the strap before I purchase it.

I would like to buy a few after-market straps for a change, but I'm not paying OEM prices for a single strip of leather with a bit of stitching and a few holes punched in it...and don't get me started on the buckles... :x

Wow, what a great service! They can easily give you 2 or 3 for free for the prices you pay.

On the other hand, why are the watches so expensive, how many time goes in the craftmanship? :P
